The Crimson Rose Butterfly Embroidery Pattern
Fancy stitching something a bit special? For this one I searched high and low for the most romantic looking and sounding butterfly!
This is the Crimson Rose butterfly, Latin name Pachliopta hector (so I call him Hector 🥰) and he is a large swallowtail butterfly. Hector is true to the original butterfly with a 4 inch wingspan and specimin accuarte detailing. He would make a stunning addition (or start) to any insect collection.
You’ll be stitching along with me in my beginner friendly videos. We’ll pad his little body with a couple of 6 stranded stitches, before satin stitching over them. We’ll stem stitch his little antenna and all the grey lines on his wings before using long and short satin stitch to fill them in. Leaving us with a handsome lifelike butterfly specimen, perfect to adorn a shelf or a wall.
